ABSENT VOTER BALLOTS ARE AVAILABLE BY MAIL UNTIL SATURDAY, OCTOBER 30, AT 2:00 PM.

 

REGISTERING TO VOTE

Before you can vote in any election you must first register to vote. To register to vote you must be:

* A U.S. citizen
* At Least 18 Years Of Age By Election Day
* A Resident Of Michigan And The City Or Township Where You
* Are Applying To Register To Vote

You must register at least 30 days before the election.

You can register to vote for federal, state and local elections by mail or by visiting your county or local clerks office, or any Secretary of State branch office. To register by mail, you must request a mail-in voter registration form from your county or local clerk's office. If you register by mail, you must vote in person at your assigned precinct the first time you vote unless you are:

* Handicapped As Defined by State law
* 60 Years Of Age Or older
* Temporarily Residing Overseas

Whenever you move to a new city or township, you must re-register to vote. If you move within a township or city, you must update your address. This can be done thru the local clerk's office, a Secretary of state branch office, by mail or at your polling place on election day.

TO VOTE

To vote, simply appear at your assigned polling place on election day. The polls are open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Absent voter ballots are available for all elections. You may obtain an application for one by writing you local Clerk's office and stating the reason need one and signing the request, or by visiting your local clerk's office. You may vote with an absent voter ballot if:

* You are physically unable to attend the polls without assistance.
* You are 60 years of age or older.
* You expect to be absent from your city or township
   on election day the entire time the polls are open.
* You are in jail, awaiting arraignment or trial.
* You have been assigned to work as a precinct
   inspector in a precinct other than where you
   are registered.
* You are unable to attend the polls because of
   tenents of my religion.

You application must be received by 2 p.m. the Saturday before an election.

A voter eligible to vote by absent voter ballot may also vote in person at the clerk's office anytime up to 4 p.m. the day before an election.

PRECINCT LOCATIONS


 

PRECINCTS 1 & 6: Elms Elementary School, 6125 N. Elms Road. Voting will be held in the gym. park at the south end of the building, and enter thru the south door. Signs will be posted inside and out.

PRECINCT 2: Flushing Township Hall, 6524 N. Seymour Road. Voting will be held in the large board room to the right of the enterance. Signs will be posted inside and out.

PRECINCTS 3 & 7: Seymour Elementary School, 3088 Seymour Road. signs will be posted inside and out.

PRECINCTS 4 & 5: William Tunnicliff High School Auditorium, 5039 Deland Road. Signs will be posted inside and out.
